FAQ'S
Do you offer roof lanterns supply only?

As all our roof lanterns are from a 3rd party supplier, we do not offer them on a supply only basis. Our team installs roof lanterns in all types of properties, but we will need to check your location before providing you with a quote.

Can I choose the type of glass I have?

Yes, you can choose between clear toughened glass or active blue glass. Please bear in mind that the active glass is actually blue in colour, so if this doesn’t fit your aesthetic we would advise that you choose the clear glass, as this already has an element of solar control within it.

Do roof lanterns require planning permission?

Generally speaking, you don't require planning permission for roof lantern installations, on either new or pre-existing roofs. However, there are a few caveats:

  • The roof lantern cannot be higher than the highest part of your existing roof
  • Any roof lantern positioned on a side elevation roof slope must use obscure glazing
  • Any roof openings must be at least 1.7m above the floor
  • Roof lanterns must not protrude more than 150mm above the existing roof
  • Additional restrictions may apply if your property is in a conservation area or is listed.
